We had a very busy weekend. On Friday night we all (Owen, Christian, me, and Zoe) piled up in the Highlander and headed to

Forest. On Saturday, Christian and I left around 9am for the
UVA game and left Owen with Grammy and
Grandpappy. Christian and I had breakfast at The Cracker Barrel - where I found Owen a 2
nd Halloween costume - a cowboy - and then we
headed to
Charlottesville.

We tailgated for a while and then began the trek to the stadium. It was chilly on Saturday but that is so much better than it being hot. The last game I went to was miserably hot. I got a pretzel, Christian got a
hotdog and we settled in for an uneventful 3 1/2 quarters of football. Then - finally - in the last 2 minutes - pure greatness!!
UVA tied the game and sent it into overtime. In overtime, the defense held the
tarheels to a
fieldgoal and the offense scored a touchdown!!
YAY!!!

(by the way, if you ever WANT to make sure a game goes into Overtime - invite me - every game I go to ends in overtime - hockey, basketball, football, you name it)

We stayed at the stadium for a bit to take it all in and then began the trek back to the car. We headed back to Forest, stopping at Five Guys in
Lynchburg for a late dinner.
We had planned to head back to Raleigh on Saturday night, but with the extended game, we thought we'd just make the trip early Sunday morning. That decided, Grammy and
Grandpappy put Owen to bed after an exciting day. They had gone to visit Great
Grandma Kesler and Owen got to go up in her attic. Of course, he came away with a few goodies as well :) We were really glad that Owen got to spend some time with his Great Grandma. Unfortunately, we found out later Saturday night that
Great Grandma
Kesler had gotten sick (the flu) late Saturday afternoon. We're hoping she's feeling better and that the Flu Mist Owen got in September is in full effect!
So, Sunday we got up and headed out bright and early. We got home around Noon and headed back out around 1:15pm to
RTP and the Heart Walk. Gillian and Leah rode with us and walked with us in the Heart Walk. Leah helped Owen cross the finish line ahead of me! Owen fell asleep on the way home, so we let him nap in the car while we rested.
And that's about it for the weekend - it was indeed a busy one. This weekend should not be so busy - although we are hoping to go pumpkin picking.
The following weekend is jam packed full of excitement. Grandma Cox is coming to visit for Halloween, then we have 2 - yes 2 - birthday parties on Saturday the 1st - and the
Rolesville Fall Festival, and then another birthday party on Sunday the 2
nd :) I love this time of year :)
