Fall Fun

In the past few week's, we've enjoyed...a field trip, a trip to Grandma's, and Thanksgiving. We also put up our Christimas tree. Owen and I decorated the tree while Christian put up lights outside. The weather the past couple days has been beautiful, but today it's getting colder.

Owen is working on his Christmas list, although Santa is not entirely sure if Owen has been naughty or nice this year. Presents will not 'appear' under the tree however, until Santa is sure!

We've also taken Owen to 2 movies in the past few weeks. I took him to Madagascar 2, and Christian took him to see Bolt. I think he may have liked Bolt better, even though he didn't wear his 3-D glasses.

Today we've just come back from a cookie-baking playdate and we're anxiously awaiting the return of the Steelman boys from their Grandmas. Four 'family days' in a row is a lot of time to fill for a 4 year old!

Here are some pictures from the last few weeks.

You did what??

Apparently they are voting in preschool now. Owen informed us this evening that he voted for Obama...because he likes her.

I had no idea they would talk about the election in school today, but that is my fault - of course they would 'vote', I mean, they are 4. So, I sent my son to school with no knowledge of the issues!!! How can he make an educated decision??

What is most puzzling is that his name is at the top of the Obama votes...which indicates to me that he was the first one to vote Blue. Crazy right??

As Owen goes, so goes the country??? Let's hope not.

Pre-Halloween Festivities

Tonight we began our week of Halloween festivities. We went to The Factory for Trick or Treating. Owen wore his cowboy costume and was very handsome. I think he had fun going around and filling up his pumpkin with candy.

Tomorrow it's off to Trunk or Treat with Jarod and Connor.

I thought it would be cool to post Halloween pictures from days of yore - or at least 2004. Happy Halloween week.

Busy Weekend

We had a very busy weekend. On Friday night we all (Owen, Christian, me, and Zoe) piled up in the Highlander and headed to Forest. On Saturday, Christian and I left around 9am for the UVA game and left Owen with Grammy and Grandpappy. Christian and I had breakfast at The Cracker Barrel - where I found Owen a 2nd Halloween costume - a cowboy - and then we headed to Charlottesville.

We tailgated for a while and then began the trek to the stadium. It was chilly on Saturday but that is so much better than it being hot. The last game I went to was miserably hot. I got a pretzel, Christian got a hotdog and we settled in for an uneventful 3 1/2 quarters of football. Then - finally - in the last 2 minutes - pure greatness!! UVA tied the game and sent it into overtime. In overtime, the defense held the tarheels to a fieldgoal and the offense scored a touchdown!! YAY!!!

(by the way, if you ever WANT to make sure a game goes into Overtime - invite me - every game I go to ends in overtime - hockey, basketball, football, you name it)

We stayed at the stadium for a bit to take it all in and then began the trek back to the car. We headed back to Forest, stopping at Five Guys in Lynchburg for a late dinner.

We had planned to head back to Raleigh on Saturday night, but with the extended game, we thought we'd just make the trip early Sunday morning. That decided, Grammy and Grandpappy put Owen to bed after an exciting day. They had gone to visit Great Grandma Kesler and Owen got to go up in her attic. Of course, he came away with a few goodies as well :) We were really glad that Owen got to spend some time with his Great Grandma. Unfortunately, we found out later Saturday night that Great Grandma Kesler had gotten sick (the flu) late Saturday afternoon. We're hoping she's feeling better and that the Flu Mist Owen got in September is in full effect!

So, Sunday we got up and headed out bright and early. We got home around Noon and headed back out around 1:15pm to RTP and the Heart Walk. Gillian and Leah rode with us and walked with us in the Heart Walk. Leah helped Owen cross the finish line ahead of me! Owen fell asleep on the way home, so we let him nap in the car while we rested.

And that's about it for the weekend - it was indeed a busy one. This weekend should not be so busy - although we are hoping to go pumpkin picking.

The following weekend is jam packed full of excitement. Grandma Cox is coming to visit for Halloween, then we have 2 - yes 2 - birthday parties on Saturday the 1st - and the Rolesville Fall Festival, and then another birthday party on Sunday the 2nd :) I love this time of year :)

Owen was great in football again today and I have pictures - although fuzzy - to prove it.

Mommy and Owen's Shadows

Another week gone so fast...

this week, Owen did such a great job in flag football. He went right out onto the field and stayed with his team (almost) the entire time. I was very proud of him. After football, I treated Owen to a donut at Daylight donuts - since he did such a great job. Then, Owen and Christian went to Lynchburg. Owen stayed with Grammy, while Christian and Grandpappy went to the UVA game and I got a Saturday all to myself.

We've been getting ready for Halloween - Christian's put up lights and I've put mums out. I'll take a pic and post.

Owen's First Halloween

September 27th

The Kesler Trio had a pretty good week. Tuesday night was Curriculum night at school. Mommy attended since Daddy had a really bad headache. Mommy got to sit at Owen's seat in his room and in his space on the carpet. We sang the good morning song and made graham cracker school bus treats. Being about to talk to other parents was the of the greatest benefits. Many of them have been to other preschools and like ours the best.

Wednesday night Mommy had to go out to dinner with collegues from work and Thursday night we went out to get a birthday present for Jackson. Friday night was Jackson's birthday party. Flag football was supposed to be today, but the rain tore up the field too bad. Mommy's been sick with a cold for the past couple days, so she got to sleep in this morning and she appriciated it!

Tomorrow is Morgan's birthday party - she turned one last week. Mommy's looking forward to seeing all the little girl toys and clothes!!

That's it for tonight - sorry - no pics to post this week - maybe I can find some older one's to post.

Owen's 4th Birthday Party

Owen had a great birthday with friends and family. I think he may be a little overwhelmed with toys - I'm trying to secretly steal them away for a while, when he's not looking. He had a bit of a rough week in school - I'm hoping it's because he's recovering from all the birthday action. If not - then you may be seeing us on Nanny 911 soon!!!
